Designing your pitch for Cold Call Canvassing
When you are cold canvassing to business, your goal is to get a conversation with potential customers in person. This may seem like a daunting task, but with the right approach, it can be easy. The most important part of your pitch is how you design it. In this blog post, we will discuss some tips for designing your pitch and making sure that you make a great first impression!
1.) Talk to the top salespeople and hear their pitch in your industry or company. Time spent learning will put you on the fast track to discovering your perfect pitch. You don’t have to start from scratch you can copy from others. This isn’t high school. It’s ok to cheat a little bit. So take the top salespeople for lunch and be ready to listen to how they do it. Better than lunch is going for a ride-along to learn how they are doing it. Pay attention to vocal tone, what are they wearing, what are they passing out, and does their pitch fell like a song. Does it have a beginning, middle, and end?
2.) Track your progress. You should be tracking the number of pitches vs the number of positive conversations. Each day tally total visits vs conversations. This percentage will grow over time and it’s important for you to see progress. Mastery takes reps and practice so time here will make you money.
3.) Notes in your CRM are for you, not your manager. So many salespeople enter notes for their manager but not for themselves. Notes should have not only details about your customer’s contact info but pain points that you can use to help follow up with later with. Also what pitch did you use and did it make an impact? Notes entered by hand are a way to program your subconscious to prepare you for the next visit. And to grow.
